Questions, answered the way we'd answer them on the phone.

If yours isn't here, ask.  We'd rather talk you out of hiring us than sell you something that won't work for your situation.

The basics

What is Generative Engine Optimization, in one sentence?

It's the work of getting an AI assistant to recommend your business by name when someone describes what they need, rather than getting a link ranked on a results page.

Is GEO just SEO with a new name?

They share a foundation, and anyone claiming they're unrelated is selling something.  The difference is the target.  SEO wins a click on a page of options.  GEO gets you into the sentence a model produces when there is no page of options.  That changes how content is written, which facts need to be structured, and how much weight your profile and reviews carry.

Does this replace my current SEO work?

No, and if you have an SEO agency doing good work we'll happily coordinate rather than duplicate.  What we add is the layer they usually don't cover: prompt research, answer-first structure, and tracking whether assistants actually name you.

Which assistants do you optimize for?

We track ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot.  You can't optimize each one separately - they draw on overlapping sources - so the work is to make your facts consistent, credible and easy to quote everywhere those sources live.

Results and timing

How long before anything changes?

Map pack movement usually appears in six to ten weeks.  AI citations are slower and lumpier because models refresh on their own schedule - most clients see the first ones between month two and month four.  Anyone promising week-one results is guessing.

Can you guarantee I'll be named by ChatGPT?

No, and be wary of anyone who does.  Nobody controls what a model outputs, and the same prompt can return different names on different days.  What we can do is make you the most obvious, best-documented, best-reviewed candidate in your category and area, then track and report exactly what the assistants say each month.

How do you measure something as fuzzy as this?

Four numbers.  How many of your target prompts name you, which we track across the major assistants every month.  Your position at 25 or 49 points across a map grid.  Calls and direction requests from your Google profile.  And website clicks from local search.  All four are on one page every month.

What if my competitors start doing this too?

Then it gets harder, which is the argument for starting now rather than the argument for not bothering.  Reviews and consistent history compound, so an eighteen-month head start is genuinely hard to buy your way past.

Google Business Profile

Do you need access to my Google account?

Manager access to the Business Profile, not ownership, and never your personal Google password.  You stay the owner and can remove us in two clicks.

My profile is suspended.  Can you fix it?

Usually.  We handle the appeal and the evidence packet Google asks for.  Tell us what changed in the 30 days before it happened - it's nearly always an address edit, a category change, or keywords added to the business name.

I don't have a storefront.  Does this still work?

Yes, and often better, since there's no walk-in trade to fall back on.  We set you up as a service area business, hide the address as the rules require, and build area pages that make your radius credible.

A competitor stuffed keywords into their business name.  Anything I can do?

Yes, and it's one of the fastest wins available.  Listed names have to match real signage.  We file redressal reports with photo evidence and they're usually corrected within weeks.

Can I get reviews faster by offering a discount?

Please don't.  Incentivized reviews violate Google's policy and put your whole review history at risk.  Asking every customer at the right moment gets you there legitimately, just a little slower.

Working together

How much of my time does this take?

About an hour in the first month, then roughly twenty minutes a month.  We need a kickoff call, approvals on anything that goes out in your name, and a photo or two from a job site.  That's it.

Who writes the content?

We do, after talking to whoever actually does the work.  Every page comes to you for approval before it goes live, and you can rewrite anything that doesn't sound like you.

Do you use AI to write the pages?

We use it for research and first drafts, then a person rewrites with details no model has: your real prices, your real turnaround, the thing customers always get wrong.  Pages that read like unedited AI output don't get cited, which rather defeats the point.

Do you work with my competitors?

Never.  One client per category, per city.  If we're already working with a plumber in your town, we'll tell you on the first call and point you somewhere else.

What industries do you work with?

Mostly home services, health and dental practices, legal and accounting firms, and independent hospitality.  Anywhere the customer is local, the decision matters, and reviews carry weight.

What if I want to stop?

Email us.  After the initial ninety days it's 30 days' notice, no exit fee, and we hand over everything within a week.

Still have a question?

Send it over with your business name and city.  You'll get an answer from a person, and the free visibility check while you're at it.
