Google Business Profile optimization, done weekly instead of once.
It's free, it's the highest-intent listing you own, and it's the record AI assistants read first when they decide who to recommend. Most small businesses set theirs up once in 2018 and never touched it again.
A profile does two jobs at once now.
The first job you already know: show up in the map pack, get the call button pressed. For most local businesses this is still the single highest-converting placement in search.
The second job is newer. When an assistant needs current facts about a local business - is it open, does it do this service, is it any good - the profile is the most structured source available, and it's dated, so recency is easy to judge. A thin profile doesn't just cost you map rankings. It leaves the model with nothing confident to say about you.
Which is why we don't treat this as setup work. It's a weekly cadence, for as long as you're a client.
Where you rank across town
Position for "emergency plumber" at 25 points across a 5-mile grid, month three.
You rank differently on every block. A single "we're #2" number hides the four suburbs where you don't appear at all.
What we do to your profile
Split into the rebuild, which happens once in the first month, and the cadence, which never stops.
The rebuild, month one
- Primary category tested against competitors who outrank you
- Secondary categories added without diluting the primary
- Every service and product listed, named the way customers say it
- Description rewritten to state facts a model can quote
- Attributes set: parking, accessibility, payment, languages, appointments
- Service area drawn to match where you'll actually drive
- Booking, quote and call links wired and tested
- Duplicate listings found and suppressed
- Photos cleaned up, geo-tagged, and captioned
The cadence, every month after
- Four posts: offers, jobs completed, seasonal notices
- Fresh photos uploaded from real jobs
- Every review answered inside 24 hours
- Review requests sent as jobs close
- Customer questions answered, common ones seeded
- Holiday and special hours set ahead of time
- Google-applied edits monitored and reverted
- Competitor name-stuffing reported
- Grid rank tracked and sent to you
The five things we find in nearly every audit
The wrong primary category
Chosen years ago from a dropdown, and now capping how often you appear. It's the single highest-leverage field on the profile and it takes ten seconds to change.
An empty services list
The section that tells Google and every assistant what you actually do. Left blank on most profiles, which means the model is guessing from your category alone.
Reviews from 2022
Great rating, nothing recent. Recency counts more than total volume when a model is deciding whether you're still operating the way people say you are.
A duplicate listing
Usually from an old address or a franchise rollout. It splits your reviews, confuses the map, and gives assistants contradictory facts to reconcile.
Hours that were wrong last Thanksgiving
Special hours never set, so "open now" queries pass you over on exactly the days when a competitor's phone is ringing.
Want yours checked?
The free audit covers all five plus the grid. No obligation, no card.
Suspended, or worried you're about to be?
Suspensions are usually triggered by a change: an address edit, a category swap, keywords added to the business name, or a virtual office listed as a storefront. Google won't tell you which one.
We handle reinstatement appeals end to end, including the evidence packet - utility bills, signage photos, licensing, vehicle wraps - that decides most cases. If we can't get it back, you don't pay for the recovery work.
Have this ready
- Business license or registration
- A recent utility bill at the address
- Photos of exterior signage
- Photos of branded vehicles
- Anything you changed in the last 30 days
Profile questions we get a lot
Do I hand over ownership of my profile?
No. We ask for manager access, which lets us edit and post but not transfer or delete anything. You stay the owner, and you can remove our access in two clicks from your profile settings.
Can I keep managing it myself and just get advice?
Yes. We'll do the audit and the rebuild plan, then train whoever handles it on your side and check in monthly. It costs less and works fine as long as someone actually does the weekly cadence.
Is it against the rules to ask customers for reviews?
Asking is fine and encouraged. Offering anything in exchange is not, and neither is filtering so only happy customers get asked. We ask everyone, at the right moment, with no incentive attached.
My competitor stuffed keywords into their business name and outranks me. Can anything be done?
Yes, and it's one of the fastest wins available. Their listed name has to match real-world signage. We file redressal reports with photo evidence, and they usually get corrected within a few weeks.
I work from home. Should I hide my address?
You must, if you don't serve customers at that location - it's a rule, not a preference, and an exposed home address is a common suspension trigger. We'll set it up as a service area business and define the radius properly.
Free profile audit, sent as a PDF report.
We'll take your profile apart field by field, chart your map grid, and list the three fixes worth doing first. Yours to keep and act on, with or without us.
