Do reviews affect AI recommendations?

Why models lean on reviews
A model cannot inspect your work. It needs third-party evidence, and reviews are the largest body of dated, specific, independent commentary about a local business that exists.
The text is the asset
When an assistant says a business is known for same-day service, it is paraphrasing reviewers. A five-star rating with no words gives it nothing to paraphrase.
This is why asking for reviews at the moment the job finishes matters - people describe what just happened. Asked three weeks later, they write "great service, thanks."
Recency is read as reliability
A model weighing whether a business still operates the way people describe leans on dates. Reviews that stopped two years ago create genuine uncertainty, and uncertainty produces hedging.

Replies are part of the record. A business that answers criticism specifically reads differently to one that has never replied, and models pick that up.
